LM is a 24 year old female who was referred to us for mood changes. She expresses concerns over her increased irritability, impulsivity, and risky behavior for an 8-day period about 2 weeks ago. She states that 2 weeks ago she had an “episode” of increased energy, uncontrollable behavior including spending unnecessary money and drinking more than she typically would. She also began to develop a business in order to “save peoples’ souls.” She reports her family is worried about her due to the episode of drastic mood change and pressured speech.
Reports insomnia during that period, only sleeping 2-3 hours per night. She reports a hx of depressive episode, in college, that lasted several months. Her PE was not significant for physical findings.

Describes 8day shift as an “episode” of increased energy, with uncontrollable behavior resulting in spending unnecessary money, drinking more, and having developed a business plan to “Save people’s souls.” She states her family is concerned in the drastic mood change and fast speech. Patient reports difficulty sleeping during the “episode” usually on 2-3hrs a night. PMHx includes previous depressive episode in college that lasted several months. Physical exam is unremarkable.
