Description

The patient is a 23-year-old law student who is otherwise healthy. She presents with 2 days of sore throats, a mild headache, and swollen and tender glands on both sides of the neck. Recent exposures to a roommate who was skin. And she also said her throat feels like an ice pick when she is swollen. She took acetaminophen for pain. Elevated temperature of 101 and the remaining physical examination are remarkable. Deny any pain or distress at this moment. Her last pap smear at age 21 was negative. NKDA/medication. She is on birth control pills and last dose was this morning. Have a history of infectious mononucleosis at 15 years old. Immunization is up-to-date but denies flu shot
