Description
Current clinical practice guidelines recommend screening for ASD in all children at 18 and 24 months of age, using tools such as the Modified Checklist for Autism in Toddlers [M-CHAT] (Hyman et al., 2020). However, in this case the child is greater than 30 months old and there are currently no validated screening tools for children greater than 4 years old (Hyman et al., 2020). The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends using tools like the Social Communication Questionnaire [SCQ] for children older than 30 months old (Hyman et al., 2020).
